3 holiday suggestions for Dominic Cummings

This week senior advisor to the Prime Minister, Dominic Cummings, went on a little adventure to the lovely market town of Barnard Castle in Durham. I’m sure he had a fantastic time in “Barney” as the English Heritage website recommends it as a great family day out with “stunning views” so I thought I’d take the liberty of giving Mr Cummings some ideas about his next trip. It’s not like they’ll be busy with everyone in lockdown so now is the perfect time!

Blackpool Tower

As most things are closed right now it’s difficult to find somewhere suitable for the family but you’re in luck here Dom because you don’t even have to go inside Blackpool Tower to experience its delights as Perky@Poshy from Walsall shows in his 5-star TripAdvisor review.

Perky Review Blackpool

Whilst you’re in Blackpool you can take some time to grab a bag of chips and eat it on the beach. There’s nothing better than feeling the wind on your scalp as you choke down some of the best fried potatoes known to man, just watch out for the seagulls, they don’t approve of all this social distancing stuff.

ZSL London Zoo

As Metro wrote earlier this month, London Zoo could soon be closed for good due to the Covid 19 situation if it doesn’t find some money as soon as possible. Well why not kill two birds with one stone and go for a visit! London Zoo is closed but I’m sure you could pay the £25,000,000 it needs as you pop in to see the animals. Joanne’s 5-star TripAdvisor review here gives you some recommendations.

I’m sure the butterfly house will be the perfect destination to spend the rest of your lockdown indoors as it sounds delightful. Just, maybe stay two metres away from the lions, I’ve heard they can catch Coronavirus and we know your family has been busy battling this horrible disease (I’m hoping you have a Spectator subscription here because I don’t.) Stay safe. Stay alert.

Lost Gardens Of Heligan

Where better to hide out and wait for all of this to blow over than in Cornwall’s beautiful 200-acre gardens? You can relax and unwind in the glory of nature, far from the nightmares of 2020. I’ve also heard it has the UK’s only outdoor sub-tropical jungle! Heligan sounds like the perfect place for you to get lost in and if you don’t come back, well, I’m sure we’ll cope.

For everyone else, we’ll just have to struggle through this horrible situation and hope we all come out the other end just fine. For those that have lost loved ones and haven’t been able to say goodbye because of the rules set out by lovely Dom here, I’m truly sorry. I’ll leave you with this 5-star review by joehump3s from Oxford, a message of hope from a time you probably no longer recognise. Thanks, joehump3s.
